Refuah V’Chesed: what does it mean?
Refuah:
One of the most difficult challenges to endure is when illness strikes a family. That’s true for anyone, anywhere in the world.
Here in Quebec, Canada however, it is that much harder. Just to get that first appointment with a doctor can mean weeks and months of waiting, wasting time that you don’t have. Time that can mean the difference between life and death; the odds of a full recovery steadily decreasing as the illness continues to spread while you wait for your appointment.
We have an obligation to protect our lives and our health. We cannot afford to go along with the Quebec Healthcare system where the life of a person is just another number in the waiting room of overworked doctors.
We are grateful to Hashem for the dedicated messengers of Refuah V’Chesed that have blessed our community. Tirelessly, they go about their heroic work in the hospital corridors, doing everything they can to save lives.
Refuah V’Chesed coordinates a massive operation dedicated to saving lives through their “Referral and Liaison Department”. A department that survives purely on the power of Chesed and receives absolutely no government funding!
