A Year Like No Other. A Campaign Like No Other.

This past year has been unique and challenging. Yet the greatness of Yeshiva Ohr Hameir of Peekskill and its talmidim shone through more than ever before.

While the doors of Yeshiva were physically shuttered for months, the limud haTorah and personal shteiging amongst our talmidim remained fervent. From 9:30 am through midnight, Peekskill talmidim called into the telephone hotline, listening intently to shiurim and shmuessen, and learning b’chavrusa with their peers. In fact, Peekskill talmidim – in their quest to create the most authentic virtual Yeshiva experience - were instrumental in designing the phone hotline system that was used by Mosdos throughout the continent during lockdown.

When they were able to physically return to Yeshiva (with proper precautions), the hasmada and kesher with both Rabbeim and friends reached new heights. It was inspiring to see how more talmidim were voluntarily Mesayeim and tested on this year’s Masechta – Maseches Bava Kama – than during any previous year.

And more than just current talmidim, Ohr Hameir of Peekskill talmidim from previous years, vividly showed their chavivas haTorah and kesher to the Yeshiva and Rabbeim. Spanning generations, they regularly called into the hotline to participate in the Yeshiva’s shiurim and shmuessen. Still today, with most back to their regular schedules, many talmidim from previous years call in on a weekly basis to listen to shiurim and shmuessen from their Rabbeim.

Now, we turn to you – on behalf of generations of talmidim - to make sure that the Rosh Yeshiva shlit”a and Rabbeim shlit”a can continue their legendary Harbotzas HaTorah and chinuch. Due to the ongoing crisis, Yeshiva Ohr Hameir of Peekskill cannot host an in-person dinner or hold a Purim collection drive, as we’ve done previously. This campaign is the main fundraising vehicle to make sure that this year’s budget can be covered. Please generously answer this urgent call.
